With three months to go until Dune finally hits theaters, a stunning collection of new character posters has now been revealed. Based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 science fiction novel, this latest adaptation of Dune is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049) and comes from a screenplay Villeneuve co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence — a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential — only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

The film’s all-star lineup includes the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.

Dune is produced by Villeneuve, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter and Joe Caracciolo, Jr, and executive produced by Tanya Lapointe, Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert.

The film’s world premiere is set to take place at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, followed by its first IMAX screening during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Additionally, a free special event — IMAX Presents: An Exclusive First Look at Dune — is being held this week across various cities worldwide featuring never-before-seen footage, music from the film, and the debut of a new trailer. More details on tickets (which are available on a first come, first served basis) here.

The release date for Dune has been shuffled quite a few times, but as of last month, it’s now currently set to land in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22.
