Demigods, do we have news for you! Rick Riordan recently announced the members of the writers room for the Percy Jackson series. The update was posted to Riordan’s website, his M.O. for delivering news.

The team includes showrunners Jon Steinberg (Black Sails) and Dan Shotz (Jericho) as well as writers Daphne Olive (an old associate of Jon and Dan on multiple projects including Black Sails) Monica Owusu-Breen (Lost, Fringe, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Joe Tracz (The Lightning Thief Musical, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Dash & Lily, Be More Chill). Mix assistants include Xavier Stiles, Zoë Neary and Stewart Strandberg. Finally, both Rick Riordan and his wife, Becky Riordan, have a seat at the table as well. The pilot script has already been written, and the team is currently working on the scripts for the second and third episodes.

While things seem to be coming together, there is still much we don’t know. The search for a director is still on, one of the largest obstacles to seeing the series get officially green lit. Despite this, it’s exciting to see things beginning to pick up! As always, stay tuned for more updates!
