Already known for the successful Kingsman movies, Matthew Vaughn has his sights set on a brand new spy franchise with Argylle. The film will be the first of a possible three in this new franchise.
An all-star cast has been lined up to bring this big-budget action thriller to life. Argylle will star Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson. Dua Lipa will also be joining the cast making her acting debut, while also providing new original music for the title track and score for the film.
Argylle is based on the debut spy thriller novel with the same name written by Ellie Conway that is set to be launched by Transworld Publishers Ltd. in 2022. The story will follow “the world’s greatest spy” on his many adventures that carry him around the world. The film is set in America, London, and several other exotic locations around the world, shooting will start this August in Europe.
Vaughn has mentioned his excitement of the film, “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy game.” With an experienced director and producer like Vaughn at the helm, a script written by Jason Fuchs, known for Wonder Woman, and a truly star-studded cast Argylle is already well on its way to being a blockbuster hit.
Producers for the film are Adam Bohling, David Reid, and Fuchs. Carlos Peres, Zygi Kamasa, Adam Fishbach, and Claudia Vaughn will be working as executive producers. Marv currently has several films in post-production like Tetris starring Golden Globe winner Taron Egerton, and The King’s Man starring Ralph Fiennes which is scheduled to be released in theaters in December of 2021.
