‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’: Michelle Yeoh Joins Netflix Prequel

The Witcher: Blood Origin has a new cast member! Michelle Yeoh, who you may have seen in Star Trek: Discovery or the hit movie Crazy Rich Asians, will join the highly anticipated show, along with newly announced cast member Laurence O’Fuarain. The Netflix limited live action series will be a six episode journey into the elven world 1,200 years before the events we know in The Witcher.

Yeoh will bring to life the character of Scian, the last of her tribe of sword-elves. According to Netflix, Scian in unmatched in her skills with a blade and when faced with the opportunity to recover her fallen tribe’s sacred sword, that was taken with questionable intents, she will stop at nothing to succeed. With a heart weighed down with unimaginable loss Scian will set out on a deadly adventure that will effect the entire future of the Continent.

Blood Origin will show what the Continent was like before the pivotal events of the conjunction of the spheres which brought with it monsters and chaos. Viewers will finally get to see the circumstances that lead to the first witcher being created.

Blood Origin will have Declan de Barra at the helm as showrunner and executive producer along with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Andrzej Sapkowski will be a creative consultant on the series. Joining the team from Hivemind will be Jason Brown and Sean Daniel, along with Tomek Baginski and Sean Daniel from Platige Films to serve as executive producers.
