Scarlett Johansson and Disney’s relationship continues to flourish. The Black Widow actress is reportedly attached to produce and star in an upcoming film based on the popular Disney Park ride Tower of Terror.
No details about the plot have released, but the film hopes to follow in the footsteps of the successful Pirates of the Caribbean film adaptations. The Tower of Terror has been a beloved ride for decades within the Disney Parks. Its haunting narration from The Twilight Zone‘s Rod Serling and scream-inducing free fall have kept the ride busy through its years in service.
Toy Story 4 director and Inside Out writer Josh Cooley is currently penning the script. No director has been attached. Johansson will produce via her company These Pictures alongside Jonathan Lia.
Johansson has a busy schedule coming up as her newest film Black Widow releases on July 9 and Sing 2, where she voices the porcupine Ash, is set to release on December 22. Recently, it was announced that she will also receive the 35th American Cinematheque Award this November.
Tower of Terror isn’t the only upcoming film based on a popular Disney Park ride. Jungle Cruise starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson releases on July 30 in theaters and Disney+ Premier Access.
