Teaser for HBO Max’s ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Ushers in New Generation of Elites

A teaser trailer for HBO Max’s Gossip Girl reboot has been released that gives a first glance at the new generation of teens.

In the trailer, Kristen Bell’s famous Gossip Girl voiceover can be heard. “You’ve gotten so comfortable thinking you’re in control of your image, your actions, the narrative — that you forgot one thing: I can see you.” Of course, it wouldn’t be Gossip Girl if we didn’t hear the sign-off, “you know you love me, XOXO.”

Gossip Girl stars Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe, Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope, Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott, Eli Brown as Otto Bergmann IV, Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway, Zion Moreno as Luna La, Tavi Gevinson as Kate Keller, Savannah Lee Smith as Monet de Haan, and Evan Mock as Aki Menzies. Find character posters for each of them below.

The new series takes place eight years after the end of the original, and when the original website went dark. The teens will make it through life at their New York private school with the series addressing the changes between social media and the New York scene that have taken place since the conclusion of Gossip Girl.

Alongside Bell returning as the famed Gossip Girl voice, Josh Safran will return as showrunner, and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are returning as executive producers.

Gossip Girl premieres on HBO Max on July 8.
