MegaCon Orlando and FanExpo Dallas Announce Dave Bautista

Everyone’s favorite hyper-literal alien is heading to MegaCon Orlando and FanExpo Dallas this year. Or at least, Dave Bautista, the actor who plays him is.

After rising to fame as a professional wrestler in the WWE, Bautista became a fast fan favorite thanks to his role as Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and other MCU films. While he has also starred in a number of other films since his move to acting, including Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie flick Army of the Dead which you can read more about here, his portrayal of Drax is certainly why many fans know and love him.

For both MegaCon and FanExpo Dallas, Bautista is set to appear on Saturday, offering autographs for $60 and photo ops for $80. The conventions have not yet announced any panels that will feature Bautista, but there is no doubt that fans will have plenty of opportunities to see the star in action.

Both conventions faced delays and ultimately cancellation in 2020 and are now set to take place August 12 through 15 (MegaCon) and September 17 through 19 (FanExpo). Bautista joins William Shatner, George Takei, and the four hobbits (Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd) as celebrity guest for the event, and we can expect more guest announcements over the coming months. Be sure to check back here for updates as we get closer to the dates, and make sure to visit the MegaCon Orlando and FanExpo Dallas websites to buy your tickets.
