Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal’s production companies — Bond Group Entertainment and Nine Stories, respectively — have won the film rights for Suzanne Simard’s memoir Finding the Mother Tree. Both are set to produce the film, and Adams will also star as Simard.

Finding the Mother Tree follows world-renowned scientist and ecologist Suzanne Simard, who first discovered how trees communicate. Her memoir details her unique journey through motherhood, being a former logger, a scientist, and explains how trees evolve and communicate. Purchase a copy here.

Stacy O’Neil, Riva Marker, Noah Stahl, and Kate Clifford will produce alongside Adams and Gyllenhaal. There’s currently no further word on casting or a projected release. Stay tuned for updates.
