HBO Max Series ‘Green Lantern’ To Be Headlined by Finn Wittrock

HBO Max has found its Guy Gardner/Green Lantern in American Horror Story‘s Finn Wittrock. The upcoming series will be written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Seth Grahame-Smith and will be based on the DC characters.

Green Lantern will span several decades and galaxies, featuring numerous Lantern iterations such as the very first Green Lantern from 1941 as well as Wittrock’s hyper-patriotic Guy Gardner from 1984. Comic book favorites and never-before-seen heroes will also make appearances.

Deadline describes the HBO Max character as “a hulking mass of masculinity, and, as rendered in the comics, an embodiment of 1980s hyper-patriotism. And yet, Guy is somehow likable.”

HBO Max has ordered 10 one-hour episodes of Green Lantern. Wittrock is the first actor to be cast in the series.
