Florence Pugh has been announced as starring in The Wonder, a new adaptation of the novel by Emma Donoghue. The film will be written by Alice Birch, who co-adapted Normal People into an acclaimed miniseries.

Pugh will play Lib Wright, a nurse in 1869 sent to investigate a mysterious medical marvel that some are calling a miracle. She is assigned to watch a young girl claiming to have been starving for months in a religious devotion, but what is really going on?

There is no word yet on a release date for The Wonder. Pugh is next set to star in Black Widow and Don’t Worry Darling, which will both be released this year.
