CHARITIESGirls Inc. Announces Virtual Film Festival With Marsai Martin

For the second time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Girls Inc. is hosting a virtual event, this time as a film festival with Marsai Martin acting as executive producer.

The organization’s previous event featured Martin alongside Tina Fey, Hillary Clinton, Gloria and Emily Estefan, Tamron Hall, Universal Studio Group chairman Pearlena Igbokwe, actress and activist Jameela Jamil, gymnast Simone Biles, and others to raise funds for Girls Inc. However, this time instead of a typical fundraiser, Girls Inc. has opted for a virtual film festival.

The ticketed event is scheduled for June 13 at 7 p.m. EST and will feature a mix of live and pre-taped appearances interspersed within a series of short films, which Girls Inc. describes as featuring “an inspiring group of girls and young women who represent a new generation of leaders and change.” Each of these films comes from a leading female director and will feature members of Girls Inc. According to the organization’s president and CEO, they are “thrilled” to have Martin onboard to executive produce. This event will be by girls for girls, promoting Girls Inc.’s mission to help girls reach their full potential.
