Hulu has announced that Amanda Seyfried and Naveen Andrews will play the leading roles in The Dropout, a new series based on the hit podcast of the same name.
The podcast followed the true story of Elizabeth Holmes, who was once the world’s youngest self made billionaire through her company Theranos. But all was not as it seemed, and soon Holmes’ carefully constructed lies were discovered as reporters began digging into her story.
Seyfried will play Holmes while Andrews will play Sunny Balwani, Holmes’ business partner and a mysterious figure who played a key role in Theranos’ rise and fall. Seyfried recently received her first Oscar nomination for Mank, while Andrews is best known for his roles on Lost and Sense8. There is no word yet on when the series will premiere.
