New Trailer for The CW’s ‘Kung Fu’ Released

The CW has shared a new trailer for its upcoming Kung Fu. The series is inspired by the classic series but follows Olivia Liang as Nicky Shen. Nicky is a young Chinese American woman that takes a journey through an isolated monastery in China to help her gain a sense of self and purpose. (She’s experiencing a quarter-life crisis.)

When she returns back to San Fransisco, she finds the city in disarray. Littered with crime and corruption, she relies on her family, friends, her martial arts background, and her Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice. She does all of this while on the lookout for one who killed her mentor Pei-Ling (Vanessa Kai).

Kung Fu premieres April 7 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
