Phoebe Dynevor graced our screens in her breakout role as Daphne in the hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton, and now she’s headed for her first feature film.
Dynevor is set to star alongside Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey, A Discovery of Witches) in a new Sky Original film, The Colour Room, which will be directed by Claire McCarthy (The Luminaries) and comes from a script by Claire Peate. The biopic will dive into the life of the famed ceramic artist Clarice Cliff, whom Dynevor will portray.
Set in the industrial British midlands in the 1920s, Clarice was a young, determined factory worker that eventually broke the glass ceiling and revolutionized the workplace. She would then go on to become one of the most influential ceramic artists of the 20th century thanks to her talent and innovation.
Goode will take on the role of an eccentric factory owner named Colley Shorter. Other cast members will include David Morrissey as art designer Fred Ridgeway, Kerry Fox as Clarice’s widowed mother Ann, Darci Shaw as her youngest sister Dot, and Luke Norris.
Production on The Colour Room is due to begin soon.
