After much fan speculation, the STARZ fantasy drama Outlander made a very special announcement today — the show has been renewed for a seventh season!
Outlander is based on the hit book series by Diana Gabaldon. The story begins in the year 1945, when a married combat nurse named Claire finds herself mysteriously swept back in time to 1743. As she tries to find her way around in an unknown world, she meets the charming warrior Jamie Fraser, and her entire life is thrown into a whirlwind of historic battles and passionate romance.
A video was posted to social media today, teasing that the cast was going to answer some fan questions. Stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Duncan Lacroix proceeded to read a series of tweets that culminated in an official confirmation that the show will indeed be returning for season 7.
