Netflix Original Series ‘Special’ Is Coming To an End

The Netflix Original series Special is returning soon for season 2! The bad news? The upcoming season will be the show’s last, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter. However, the next season of the show will be expanded, so we’ll get more of Ryan and co. The second season is set to include eight 30-minute episodes, growing from its season 1 runtime of 15-minute episodes.

Created and written by Ryan O’Connell, Special is a semi-autobiographical series about a gay man with mild cerebral palsy, Ryan, who decides he wants to branch out from the care of his mother and pursue a life he truly wants.

Special stars O’Connell, Punam Patel, Jessica Hecht, Augustus Prew, and more. Season 1 is currently available to stream on Netflix. Season 2 will arrive on May 20.
