With just two months to go until the highly anticipated remake of the 1999 classic Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap — aptly titled New Pokémon Snap — fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to explore the Lental region. As a part of today’s Pokémon Presents, a new gameplay teaser was revealed for New Pokémon Snap!
In addition to some new shots of the beautiful, sprawling landscapes that this remake has to offer, the video clued us in on some additional information about the upcoming game. As players continue their research throughout a particular course in the game, their research level in that area will subsequently increase. As a result, higher levels mean that the Pokémon in that course may display new expressions and behaviors. This will be key for photo scores; player snapshots in the game will be scored from one to four stars, dependent upon just how rare the Pokémon’s behavior in the picture is. Players will also be able to encourage unique reactions from Pokémon by playing a melody or using an Illumina orb.
And that’s not all! Check out the video below to see all of the latest information on New Pokémon Snap.
New Pokémon Snap will officially be available on the Nintendo Switch on April 30. Pre-orders are now available.
