‘Da 5 Bloods’ Lands Six Critics Choice Nominations Including Best Picture
The film nominees for the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards were announced today, and among the films earning several nominations is Spike Lee’s war drama Da 5 Bloods. The ceremony will air Sunday, March 7 at 7 p.m. ET on The CW, with host Taye Diggs.
The film earned six nominations total:
- Best Picture
- Best Actor — Delroy Lindo
- Best Supporting Actor — Chadwick Boseman
- Best Acting Ensemble
- Best Director — Spike Lee
- Best Cinematography — Newton Thomas Sigel
Da 5 Bloods follows four friends (who refer to themselves as Bloods) and Vietnam vets — Paul (Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Melvin (Isiah Whitlock Jr.), and Eddie (Norm Lewis) — who return to Vietnam years later to find and recover the remains of their squad leader Norman, along with a chest of gold they buried during the war. Paul’s son David (Jonathan Majors) joins the Bloods on their quest, worried about his father’s well-being.
