‘Schitt’s Creek’ Receives Five Golden Globe Nominations!

CBC/Pop

The 78th Golden Globes are almost upon us, and the nominees have finally been announced!

Coming in hot with a whopping five nominations is none other than the beloved comedy series Schitt’s Creek. Over the course of six seasons, Schitt’s Creek became an iconic and beloved show, one that fans just couldn’t get enough of.

Schitt’s Creek is up for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy, contending against Emily in Paris, The Flight Attendant, The Great, and Ted Lasso.

The entire Rose family has also received their own separate nominations as well.

Eugene Levy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy

Catherine O’Hara for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy

Daniel Levy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role

Annie Murphy for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role

Schitt’s Creek follows the riches-to-rags store of the Rose family as they’re forced to say goodbye to their pampered lives in exchange for a new home in a less than desirable motel (located in, of course, Schitt’s Creek) after an unfortunate bout of bankruptcy. This show is equal parts hilarious and heartwarming with its uncanny ability to wrap you up comfortingly one moment, only to send you into a fit of side-splitting laughter the next. And though Schitt’s Creek took its final bow with its sixth season in 2020, it has left a lasting mark on the world of television.

Created by Dan Levy and his father Eugene Levy, the show stars the aforementioned duo alongside Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy, Emily Hampshire, Noah Reid, Chris Elliott, Jennifer Robertson, Sarah Levy, Karen Robinson, Dustin Milligan, and more.

The Golden Globes, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be held on February 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT/8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
