Taylor John Smith and Harris Dickinson Join ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ With Daisy Edgar-Jones

Share

After previously announcing that Daisy Edgar-Jones of Normal People would lead the film adaptation of the bestselling novel Where The Crawdads Sing, Deadline has exclusively reported that Taylor John Smith and Harris Dickinson will join her as the male leads. The novel follows Kya, a wild young woman caught up in a murder investigation when her ex-boyfriend is found dead. Where The Crawdads Sing has been a bestseller since its publication, spending 124 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list and landing the title of the sixth highest selling hardcover book in 2020.

The two main male leads in the book (and presumably the film) are Chase Andrews, the ex-boyfriend, and Tate Walker, Kya’s childhood friend. Deadline has not confirmed which actor will take on which role as of yet. The film is produced by Reese Witherspoon through her production company Hello Sunshine.
