Even though Marvel fans will have to wait a little longer than expected for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Disney+ is making sure to keep them entertained for the next couple of years. During Disney Investor’s Day, the company announced not one, but two new Disney+ Originals centered around the misfit group of guardians.
If one has ever wondered how the Guardians celebrate the holidays, wonder no more. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is coming to Disney+ in 2022 and will be written and directed by James Gunn.
In addition, Baby Groot will be returning to star in his own original Disney+ series. The vicious and cute little tree was one of the standouts of 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but by the time the end-credits scene came, as well as Avengers: Infinity War, Groot had grown into a pre-teen. I Am Groot, an Original Series from Marvel Studios, will be coming soon to Disney+ and will be a series of shorts featuring several new and unusual characters.
