Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Peanuts Head To AppleTV+
In a new deal with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions, Apple TV+ has become the new home for anything Peanuts. In addition to original new series and specials, the iconic holiday specials (It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Christmas) will all be found in one place.
New original Peanuts content coming to Apple TV+ include a second season of the Emmy-nominated Snoopy in Space, and a few brand-new specials that will find the gang marking Mother’s Day, Earth Day, New Year’s Eve, and Back to School. All are set to be produced by WildBrain’s animation studio. A second animated documentary special commemorating the 70th anniversary of Charles Schulz iconic characters will also be available on the platform.
Apple TV+ procured the rights to air Peanuts content beginning on October 19 with It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and is free to non-subscribers through November 1. Just in time for Thanksgiving, Apple TV+ will launch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on November 18, and the special will be available for free from November 25 until November 27.
The Peanuts gang will also deck the halls with the premiere of A Charlie Brown Christmas, streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ on December 4. The holiday special will be available to enjoy for free from December 11 until December 13.
This marks the first year in history the Peanuts gang will not be seen on standard broadcast TV for Christmas or Halloween since the specials were created.
