Netflix Releases Official Trailer for ‘Hillbilly Elegy’
The release of the much-anticipated film Hillbilly Elegy is upon us, and Netflix has finally released the official trailer! The upcoming film follows a Yale law student who returns to his hometown, coming face-to-face with his family history, “…Appalachian values, and the American dream.” It stars Gabriel Basso, Amy Adams, Glenn Close, Haley Bennett, Freida Pinto, and Dylan Gage. The screenplay is written by Vanessa Taylor and directed by Ron Howard. The film is adapted from the J.D. Vance book Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis.
The trailer promises a film that will be full of heart-wrenching moments and a whirlwind of emotions. We get a glimpse of a family in strife, but it also shows moments of hope. Adams, Close, and Basso already shine in their roles and will no doubt carry the performances seen in the trailer throughout the entire film. Hillbilly Elegy will release on Netflix on November 24.
