A coming-of-age science fiction film — Monsters of California — is on the way, and Tom DeLonge is set to make his directorial debut with this paranormal adventure, as reported by Deadline.

DeLonge, known for spending over two decades as one of the frontmen of the band blink-182 and currently fronting Angels & Airwaves, has had a very well-known obsession with aliens, UFOs, and conspiracy theories for most of his life. He co-wrote the script for Monsters of California with Ian Miller, which follows the story of a teenager named Dallas Edwards as he and his friends are “on a quest for the meaning behind a series of mysterious, paranormal events in Southern California. The truths they uncover begin to unravel extraordinary secrets held tightly within the deepest levels of the Government.” DeLonge told Deadline, “I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades.”

The film will star Richard Kind, Casper Van Dien, Arianne Zucker, Gabrielle Haugh, Camille Kostek, Jack Samson, Jared Scott, and Jack Lancaster.

As an added bonus for fans of DeLonge’s music, he will be writing and performing original songs for the film’s score.

In an Instagram post today, DeLonge said, “PRODUCTION HAS STARTED… been a bit busy, ha. Hope you like blink-era dick jokes, skateboarding culture, UFOs and a few sekrets thrown in. 🙂 I actually laughed so hard yesterday, I had tears. I really think you’re all going to love this film.”

Stay tuned for more information!
