Hulu Announces Huluween 2020 Lineup
Hulu’s annual Halloween event, Huluween, is back once again! The lineup includes new shows, a family-friendly Madagascar special, as well as 30 Halloween inspired short films. Check out some of the content coming to Hulu next month for the special event!
October 2
Monsterland: The upcoming eight-part anthology based on the collection of stories from Nathan Ballingrud’s North American Lake Monsters begins streaming.
October 7
Books of Blood: A Hulu Original that takes inspiration from Clive Barker’s series about a journey into uncharted territory, begins streaming.
October 16
The first season of the horror-filled Hulu Original, Helstrom with Marvel, brings the comics to life, following the son and daughter of a mysterious and very powerful serial killer as they use their unique abilities to track down the worst of humanity.
October 21
If you aren’t into the scary aspects of the Halloween season, or if you have little ones, Hulu has got you covered! The family-friendly Hulu Original, Madagascar: A Little Wild “A Fang-Tastic Halloween” special from DreamWorks Animation begins streaming October 21. After hearing spooky rumors about the new habitat resident – A BAT – Marty is determined to protect his friends from the newcomer. But when the bat helps him out of a tough situation, Marty learns it’s better to get to know someone rather than judge them on false stereotypes.

October 23
Rounding out the slate of terrifying Originals is the highly anticipated horror satire film, Bad Hair. Set in 1989, the movie follows an ambitious young woman (Elle Lorraine) who discovers that her hair may have a mind of its own.
Other content to check out during the length of Huluween includes: Babak Anvari’s Wounds starring Armie Hammer, Zazie Beetz, and Dakota Johnson, Zombie flick Little Monsters starring Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad, 22 hair-raising installments of the thriller/horror event series Into the Dark from prolific, award-winning producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Television.
Along with the announcement of the spooky lineup, Hulu announced that Los Angeles residents can experience a free outdoor drive-in theater event, perfect for any horror fan! Set to be held at the LA Equestrian Center from October 22 -25, the event will host the L.A. premiere of Bad Hair, as well as screenings of Hocus Pocus, Hulu Original Books of Blood, Beetlejuice, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and 1976’s Carrie. Tickets are available to request on the Huluween website.
If you can’t make it to LA don’t worry — there is also a haunted 360-degree immersive experience that will be available online for adults. Titled “The Screamlands,” the online event will become available starting October 8 and will include five different themed rooms, you must be 18 or older to visit the site.
