Soon after exiting Chicago P.D. in a season-long series regular role, Lisseth Chavez has a new duty as a series regular in the upcoming season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Chavez will play Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz, an alien expert who lives off the grid, devising ingenious tech for detection and defense against space aliens. Spooner also believes she has the ability to communicate telepathically with aliens. She’s the perfect recruit as the Legends will be hunting down extraterrestrials who have been displaced throughout history in season six.

While speaking on the DC FanDome Legends panel, executive producer Grainne Godfrey said,

“She is a young woman from Texas, who was kidnapped by aliens and has a thirst for vengeance. She’s not going to be one of the lovable losers that we normally have, she’s going to be pretty tough and gives it to the other Legends, and they’re going to have to react to her, and I think it’s going to throw them off their feet a little bit.”

The previous season of Legends of Tomorrow had the Legends tracking down the Loom of Fate and the next season is all about trying to save history from space aliens. The season finale ended with Sara getting abducted, making the mission even more personal.

All five seasons of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are streaming on Netflix, with season six expected to premiere sometime in 2021 on The CW.
