If you were looking for a gothic romance with a touch of the supernatural, Netflix has you covered. They recently released a first look at Rebecca, a thriller based on the classic 1940’s film. Lily James stars as “the second” Mrs. de Winter, who moves to the English countryside with her new husband Maxim de Winter (Armie Hammer). She’s looking forward to settling in, but it turns out she’s got competition in the form of Maxim’s dead first wife, Rebecca. With creepy housekeeper Mrs. Danvers (Kristin Scott Thomas) firmly on Team Rebecca, Mrs. de Winter must decide: is she really seeing ghosts, or is something more sinister going on?

The original film was based on the novel by Daphne du Maurier and starred Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, and Judith Anderson. It remains an influential film to this day and earned 11 Academy Award nominations, winning two (including Best Picture). This new adaptation will premiere on Netflix on October 21, just in time for a Halloween watch party! Check out all the new set photos below.

I'm a huge Disney fan and my happy place is the Happiest Place on Earth! When not fangirling, I can be found reading, writing and listening to a true crime podcast.
