The wait is finally over — author Alex Segura’s new YA Star Wars novel, Poe Dameron: Free Fall, is now available!
Originally announced earlier this year, Poe Dameron: Free Fall explores the backstory of hotshot Resistance pilot Poe Dameron’s teenage years. In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, upon encountering the new character Zorii Bliss on the planet Kijimi, we learned that Poe used to be a spice runner (spice being a term for illicit substances) in the years before he enrolled in the New Republic Defense Fleet (and eventually defected to the Resistance).
Free Fall takes place a few years after Poe’s mother, Shara Bey, passed away. He and his father, Kes Dameron, are having trouble connecting. As such, a teenage Poe Dameron takes off, running away from home in the interest of finding adventure and figuring out “what kind of man he is meant to be.”
