Netflix has released its first trailer for Ratched, the new prequel series to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest starring Sarah Paulson. The series explores the origin story of the infamously vicious Nurse Ratched.

Set in 1947, the series depicts Mildred Ratched’s arrival at a psychiatric hospital in Northern California and how her experiences cause her to devolve into the monster we all know her as today. We can’t wait to see Sarah Paulson carry on Louise Fletcher’s legacy as Nurse Ratched. Ratched will be available on Netflix starting September 18.
