Amazon is set to be home to a new sci-fi thriller from Beast filmmaker Michael Pearce.
Exclusively reported by Deadline, Emmy-winning actor Riz Ahmed (The Night Of, Venom) and Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures) are set to star in Invasion, a story about a decorated Marine (Ahmed) set on protecting his two young sons from an unhuman threat.
Pearce, a BAFTA winner for Beast, wrote the script alongside Joe Barton (The Ritual) and filming will hopefully begin later this year. No release date is set at this time.
You can catch Octavia Spencer in her Emmy-nominated role in Self-Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam CJ Walker and next year in The Witches, based on the novel by Roald Dahl, alongside Anne Hathaway. Riz Ahmed can be seen in Sound of Metal, Darius Marder’s film based around a heavy metal drummer overcoming his sudden loss of hearing that is set to release on August 14 on Amazon.
