‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Launches with New Trailer

CBS All Access has released the trailer for its upcoming Star Trek animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks. For the first time in over four decades, the franchise is getting an animated show that will have a 10-episode first season that will launch August 6, with new episodes available to stream weekly on Thursdays for CBS All Access subscribers.

Developed by Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites), Star Trek: Lower Decks is set in 2380 and follows the support crew aboard Starfleet’s U.S.S. Cerritos. Ensigns Boimler (Jack Quaid), Mariner (Tawny Newsome), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero), and Tendi (Nöel Wells) have to keep up their duties on the ship as well as their social lives while the ship is being rocked by different sci-fi anomalies.

Aboard the voice cast for Lower Decks bridge crew is Dawnn Lewis (Captain Carol Freeman), Jerry O’Connell (Commander Jack Ransom), Fred Tatasciore (Lieutenant Shaxs), and Gillian Vigman (Doctor T’Ana).
