Deadline has announced that Zachary Levi has been cast as Kurt Warner in the upcoming biopic American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story.

The film is based off of Warner’s memoir, All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football and the First Miracle Season, where he goes through the trials and tribulations of building a career as an underdog, eventually turning into an NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP and Hall of Fame player.

The script was written by David Aaron Cohen, Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, and Erwin and his brother, Andrew, will direct.

This is an exciting announcement, and we can’t wait to see Zac in the role!
