“R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me” may be some of the most famous song lyrics of all time. This December, MGM will be releasing a biopic film on the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, detailing her rise to stardom.

The movie about the regal singer has been in the works for over a decade, with Franklin herself handpicking Jennifer Hudson (best known for her Oscar-winning performance in Dream Girls) several years before her passing in 2018. Alongside Hudson, the cast is set to be jam-packed with stars such as Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, and Mary J. Blige among others. With so much talent and such an inspiring story to tell, this movie is certain to be a hit.

We can’t wait to see what this movie has in store. RESPECT comes out on Christmas Day. Watch the trailer below!
