Paley Front Row Series Presents ‘Ramy,’ ‘Snowpiercer,’ and More

Paley Center for Media has announced the latest selections to its Paley Front Row series, including TNT’s Snowpiercer: Special Fan Q&A Edition, Conversations in Pride with Greg Berlanti , Hulu’s Ramy: A Conversation With The Stars, NBC’s The Tonight Show: A Conversation With Jimmy Fallon, and Girls Trip & First Wives Club: A Conversation With Creative Powerhouse Tracy Oliver. All of these programs will be available to watch on the Paley Center’s YouTube Channel. Maureen J. Reidy, Paley Center’s President and CEO, said this:

“We are so proud to announce these new selections to our Paley@Home Presented by Citi series,This diverse collection of programs include conversations with trailblazing voices from the African-American and LGBTQ+ communities, a special look at the acclaimed show that spotlights challenges facing young Muslims in America, a conversation with the stars of this season’s most anticipated new sci-fi series and an exciting program with one of the most influential names in late night.”

The series began today with Hulu’s Ramy: A Conversation With The Stars, featuring Ramy Youssef with Laith Nakil, Steve Way, and May Calamawy. Ramy was created by Youssef, teaming up with Ryan Welch and Ari Katcher. Youssef portrays an Egyptian-American as he attempts to find balance between the modern generation and his Muslim faith. Ramy gained much-deserved attention when Youssef was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

Next week will feature TNT’s Snowpiercer: Special Fan Q&A Edition on Friday, June 19 starting at 12 p.m. EST. Snowpiercer is based on the popular graphic novel series by Jean-Marc Rochette and also the 2013 film by Oscar winner Bong Joon-Ho. The TNT series is set more than seven years after the world has become frozen and focuses on the little humanity left as they deal with politics and social injustice. Join Alison Wright (Ruth Wardle), Jennifer Connelly (Melanie Cavill), and Daveed Digs (Andre Layton) as they answer questions through social media and talk about the show.

Also starting at noon EST on Friday, June 19 is Conversations in Pride: Greg Berlanti, Storyteller. Berlanti has made the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community a focus of his work on such shows as Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Doom Patrol and many more. Berlanti has created storylines and characters that have helped change television to what it is today. In Friday’s Pride Month conversation, Berlanti will discuss the representation of LGBTQ+ in his award-winning series.

On Friday, June 26 at noon EST, the series continues with Girls Trip & First Wives Club: A Conversation with Creative Powerhouse Tracy Oliver. Oliver has multiple projects in the works through her production company, Tracy Yvonne Productions. Oliver is also currently showrunning two series she has created: an upcoming Amazon series starring Grace Byers and Meagan Good, and The First Wives Club that will air on Bet Plus. Oliver will be joined by Good and Byers in the conversation. Oliver stated:

 “I’m thrilled to be on the Paley Live stage for the first time,”“I’m looking forward to an entertaining discussion and I’m so excited and proud to share a behind-the-scenes look at ‘First Wives Club,’ ‘Girls Trip,’ and my other projects.”

Last but not least is NBC’s The Tonight Show: A Conversation With Jimmy Fallon on Friday, June 26 at 12 p.m. EST. Fallon has been entertaining viewers from his home since Studio 6B closed after stay-at-home orders were put into place. The Tonight Show adapted by airing new shows in order to provide the much-needed laughs and some sense of a new normal. This is how The Tonight Show: At Home Edition was created. At Home Edition gives viewers a look into Fallon’s life beyond hosting The Tonight Show. Fallon will sit with former Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell as they talk about what the change into an at home format has been like for Fallon, as well as their time together on Saturday Night Live and more.
