Amongst everything else happening in our current times, the horrors of childhood cancer have not ceased. It’s an unimaginable pain and hardship that no family ever expects or is ready for.
Christopher’s Haven, a charity centered in Boston, Massachusetts, works diligently and selflessly to provide housing to family’s whose children are receiving care in the city of Boston. They “operate a supportive community consisting of seven temporary apartments and a community recreation area” for these families, easing at least some of their worries as they face the mountain that is cancer treatment before them. They’ve assisted over 300 families and counting, also offering assistance and support to the siblings of children undergoing care with summer camps, excursions, and tickets to sporting events.
This year, on May 21 at 6:30 p.m. ET, Christopher’s Haven will be holding a virtual fundraiser hosted by NESN’s Jenny Johnson featuring some of Massachusetts’ best: Captain America himself Chris Evans, Boston Red Sox stars Jason Varitek and Clay Buchholz, actor Rob Corddry, and Matthew Slater from the New England Patriots.
