The critically acclaimed Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was set to finally make its highly anticipated Canadian premiere on October 23, 2020 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto. However, due to COVID-19, the difficult decision has been made to delay the production to 2021 after taking into consideration the orders and recommendations of government and public health officials. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is based on an original story by J. K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, which features new and old faces alike as it picks up 19 years after the events of The Deathly Hallows.

After making its world premiere at the Palace Theatre in London in 2016, the play has since opened in New York City, San Francisco, and Melbourne as well, with delayed opening dates now in Hamburg and Toronto, and a 2022 release in Tokyo. The two-part stage production is an incredibly impressive feat, toting gorgeous sets, downright magical visual effects, and an unforgettable soundtrack by Imogen Heap.
