Watch Pedro Pascal Perform Piece by Ngozi Anyanwu for ‘The 24 Hour Plays: The Viral Monologues’

One of the many losses during these difficult times of social distancing and isolation has been live theater. In response to this, The 24 Hour Plays has been running a series, The 24 Hour Plays: The Viral Monologues, weekly since March 17.

The concept is simple, writers are paired up with actors (remotely) and given 24 hours to write an original monologue for the performer, which must then be acted out and filmed with the intent to premiere the following day. The weekly performances are posted on The 24 Hour Plays’ Instagram, starting at 6 p.m. EST and revealing a new one every 15 minutes until midnight.

Round five of The Viral Monologues went live last night, and it included an intense, emotional performance from Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Narcos), in which he recited a piece by Ngozi Anyanwu, entitled “For All the Lovesick Mad Sad Geniuses.”

The 24 Hour Plays: The Viral Monologues are produced by Coleman Ray Clark and Madelyn Paquette. Make sure to check out the previous four rounds of performances as well!

Lindsey joined the Nerds and Beyond team in 2018. If she's not writing or out and about with her camera, she's probably watching anime, nerding out over Star Wars, reading manga, and definitely forgetting to water her plants. And waiting for the Genshin loading screen to pop up. Contact:
