Right now, people all around the world fear that moment where they wake up – probably after a very short sleep – and see the news for the first time. Whether you’ve started to stay away from the 24-hour news cycle or whether you only glance at the headlines once a day, we can all admit that our situation is more than dire. And yet, there is a silver lining. We daily see good news, of our heroes on the front-line, of a compassionate neighbor or a motivated teacher. In order to bundle this good news and to bring a smile back to all of our faces, The Office and Jack Ryan star John Krasinski has started his YouTube series Some Good News. While the first episode saw a reunion with his The Office co-star Steve Carell, the second one was magical and revolutionary at the same time.

Krasinski interviewed Hamilton superfan Aubrey, who missed her long-awaited visit to see the musical due to the current shutdown of theaters. In a tweet, her mother had mentioned that Aubrey watched Mary Poppins Returns instead, a film which stars Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt as well as Hamilton writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda. Not only did Aubrey meet Mary Poppins herself, but she also got another surprise when her call was “Zoom-bombed” by the entire original Broadway cast of Hamilton! The unexpected guests including Phillipa Soo, Leslie Odom Jr., Jonathan Groff, Anthony Ramos, Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, and many more!

Seeing the original cast reunited after over three years was magical. However, seeing Aubrey react live to her favorite musical with the original actors was even more of a treat. Everyone who has ever binge-listened to this cast album or who just needs something to smile about – this will definitely make your day.

Conny joined her first fandom at the tender age of three and somehow never stopped finding new things to obsess about and love. Her current love is everything Marvel, especially two characters who tend to be frozen at one point or the other. From Drag Race to Harry Potter or musical theatre, as long as it makes her smile (or cry), it’s probably her thing.
