Former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies posted on his Instagram to announce that on March 26, he will be live tweeting the episode “Rose” on its 15th anniversary.

“Rose” is a special episode for many fans, as it was the first episode of the show’s revival. It saw the introduction of Christopher Eccleston as the ninth doctor and Billie Piper as his companion, Rose. The episode sees the Doctor battle against the Nestene Consciousness, which can animate various plastic objects from mannequins to wheelie bins, as it tries to invade Earth.

However, it has also been announced that before the live tweeting event, never before seen footage named “Rose: The Prequel” will be released on BBC’s Doctor Who website. The time that this footage will be released has yet to be confirmed. Davies also hinted that there would be more surprises to come.

Davies will start live tweeting at 7 p.m. GMT on Thursday, although he must first create a twitter profile to do so. So keep an eye on his Instagram for his brand new Twitter handle.
