An untitled prequel series of Disney’s 2017 live action Beauty and the Beast movie is being developed for Disney+. Luke Evans and Josh Gad are returning to their roles as Gaston and LeFou respectively as the series is set to explore their origin stories.

The 6-episode series will be produced by ABC Signature Studios and is set to be a musical like the film. Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz and Gad will co-write and executive produce the project.

Kitsis and Horowitz may be familiar to many Disney and fairytale fans from their roles as co-creators and executive producers of ABC’s Once Upon a Time, which also featured storylines based upon Beauty and the Beast.

As huge Beauty and the Beast fans we can’t wait to find out more about this project. We’ll keep you updated when more information is released so make sure to check back here.
