Hondo Ohnaka (originally seen in Clone Wars) has a mission for you when you ride Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run ride in Galaxy’s Edge! Your mission on the ride is to work with your flight crew to intercept a First Order train shipment of coaxium–the fuel needed for faster-than-light travel. However, if you want something a little different during the ride there is a code to activate Chewie Mode! In this mode Chewbacca (aka) Chewie yells at your crew the whole time, which is understandable since you did break the Millennium Falcon.

The code is reminiscent of video game codes. (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start anyone?)

According to the video posted by FreshBaked! (with the help of his crew from Best Life, Ordinary Adventures and Theme Park Obsession) the ride can be hacked to activate Chewy mode by doing the following:

First and foremost, do not ACTIVATE your position right away like you normally do.  Left and right pilots need to push their controls to the extreme left/right or extreme up/down.  Once you’ve done that hit your activation button.

Engineers and Gunners need to hit one of the white buttons on their console before hitting the orange activation button. Kind of like using the shift key on a keyboard.

Finally, be sure you’ve done this BEFORE the cast member finishes checking your seatbelts (pull the yellow thingy) and they hit the ok to go button.

The following video documents their attempts and success at activating Chewie mode:

You can read a review of the ride with Hondo Ohnaka as the guide in our previous article.

Good luck and may the force be with you on your adventure!
