Season four of This Is Us is about to get a little more interesting, with Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D., One Tree Hill) and Pamela Adlon (Better Things) guest starring in the show. The series creator, Dan Fogelman, announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the two actresses would be joining the show, giving reporters and fans small hints on their roles.

Bush’s character will be involved in Kevin’s storyline in some way, but it is not known exactly what that role will be. Could she be the mother of his child in the future timeline? Or does she play another role that we haven’t seen yet with the two timelines?

Fogelman stated that Adlon’s role would be part of a significant storyline for Randall. This storyline, an incredible arc for Randall, is not known but Adlon’s limited role is important to that arc. Hopefully Randall’s life will get a little easier.

We can’t wait to see what happens next! This is Us returns Tuesday, January 14 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
