‘YOU’: Joe Tries to Start Fresh in New Trailer for Season 2
The Lifetime-turned-Netflix stalker drama YOU debuted last year to critical success. With the first season starring Gossip Girl‘s Penn Badgley as Joe, Dead of Summer‘s Elizabeth Lail as Beck/Joe’s love interest, and Pretty Little Liars’ Shay Mitchell as Peach/Beck’s friend, the series became more popular when it moved to Netflix as an Original in December 2018 after its debut on Lifetime that September. Now, Netflix is preparing to drop season 2, releasing posters and trailers, and a new one has just been released.
Season 2 finds Joe after the events of season 1 as he moves to Los Angeles to start fresh as Will Bettleheim, but finds it hard as his past is constantly on his mind. In the new trailer, Joe meets his newest love interest/possible victim, aptly named “Love,” played by The Haunting of Hill House‘s Victoria Pedretti. James Scully plays Love’s brother, Forty, who wants to know what Joe, or Will’s, intentions are with his sister. Joe’s ex, Candace, played by Ambyr Childers from Ray Donovan, who appeared a few times in season 1 and came back in the season 1 finale, is also back and in LA. She knows what Joe did again.
In the trailer, Joe is seen sitting in a bathtub with bloody hands. Also seen in the trailer is the boxed room from the first season and a body, with blood on the glass walls. “If he loves you, that’s the most dangerous thing.”
Season 2 of YOU premieres December 26, with season 1 streaming now on Netflix.
