‘Gotham’ Alum Sean Pertwee to Guest Star on ‘Prodigal Son’
Another day, another great casting announcement for fans of FOX’s newest hit Prodigal Son. Sean Pertwee, who played Alfred Pennyworth on Gotham, will play Detective Owen Shannon on the midseason finale. According to TV Insider:
He will play the menacing, serial-obsessed Detective Owen Shannon. He once fiercely interrogated a young Bright and left a lasting, haunting impression. And while he is no longer on the force, he still holds a bitterness towards Gil (Lou Diamond Phillips) for being the one to take down The Surgeon.
Pertwee is also known for his roles in Elementary and Luther. His father, Jon Pertwee, was also an actor, best known for his portrayal of The Third Doctor on Doctor Who from 1970-74.
Prodigal Son stars Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a criminal profiler who struggles to cope with his father’s legacy as a serial killer known as The Surgeon (Michael Sheen). The show also stars Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
Prodigal Son was also recently picked up for a full season order, bringing the total number of episodes in its first season to twenty-two.
Prodigal Son airs Mondays at 9 PM ET on Fox.
