Most might know him from directing movies like Man of Steel, Sucker Punch, 300, and Justice League, and now Zack Snyder is heading into anime creation. He will be teaming up with long term creative partner Jay Oliva to create this new anime — based on Norse Mythology — for Netflix.

Snyder is set to be an executive producer for the project, and Oliva will serve as showrunner, director, and executive producer.

The head of anime programming, John Derderian, told Variety,

We are beyond excited to partner with him [Snyder] and his exceptional team to bring the iconic characters and stories of Norse mythology to life in his inimitable style.

This new show will join the growing selection of anime on Netflix. Already streaming are shows like Castlevania, The Seven Deadly Sins, and Voltron, and shows based on Magic: The Gathering and Pacific Rim are in the works.
