Saying Goodbye to Epcot’s ‘Future World’

We’ve slowly been gathering information about Disney’s changes to Disney World, including adding Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, adding the Tron Rollercoaster to Magic Kingdom, and how Epcot would also be going through some changes.

Now, more information is being released about just how much of Epcot will change. Sadly, most of Future World as we know it, is set to close. Thanks to Blog Mickey, below are the list of closures that are coming to Future World.

Mouse Gear

Mouse Gear, which is Epcot’s prime merchandise location, will be closing later this year. Disney has not confirmed a date, but this closing has been widely reported throughout the Disney community.

Electric Umbrella

Electric Umbrella, which is a quick-service restaurant located in Future World, will also be closing. No exact date has been given, but it’s estimated to be later this year.

Fountain of Nations

This unique fountain, which is seen as iconic in the center of Future World, is set to also close.

Camera Central

Camera Central will be closing later this year, and will reopen as the new location of Pin Central, which will close on September 8, 2019.

Pin Central

Pin Central, which is located in the middle of Future World, will be closing on September 8, 2019 and will reopen in the future where Camera Central currently is.

Character Spot

Meet Disney Pals at Character Spot will temporarily close beginning September 8, 2019.

Club Cool

Club Cool, where you can sample different beverages from around the world, will close on September 9, 2019.

Fountain View – Starbucks

This Starbucks location set in the middle of Future World is also scheduled to close.
