Father-Son Duo Visit Every Legoland Park in 13 Days
On July 9, Dieter Deussen and five year old son Julian completed the ultimate Legoland tour. The German duo visited all eight Legoland Parks worldwide in just 13 days.
Deussen wanted to create a unique and special experience for Julian before he begins school for the first time this September. Julian is a big Lego fan, and his father suggested the “Legoland World Tour” for their big summer trip.
“It didn’t take more than a few seconds for Julian to say yes,” said Deussen of the pitch. In planning the grand tour, Deussen said,“The key to this trip was to have fun and enjoy extensive time with my son. It’s a memory that we’ll have forever.”
Originally from Dusseldorf, Germany, their adventure started at the UK Legoland Windsor Resort on June 27. When their time at Windsor ended, they set sail for Legoland Billund in Denmark and made their way around the world.
The Deussen Legoland World Tour Schedule:
- Thursday, June 27 – Legoland Windsor
- Friday, June 28 – Legoland Billund
- Sunday, June 30 – Legoland Deutschland
- Monday, July 1 – Legoland Dubai
- Wednesday, July 3 – Legoland Malaysia
- Friday, July 5 – Legoland Japan
- Sunday, July 7 – Legoland California
- Tuesday, July 8-9 – Legoland Florida
“Traveling the world and visiting all of the parks in just under two weeks is the ultimate Legoland vacation,” said Legoland Florida Resort Head of Public Relations, Shawn Mikus. “We’re really happy that Legoland Florida Resort could play a small part in creating a lifelong memory for Dieter and Julian.”
The two spent time at all of the theme parks, ensuring they hopped on the most iconic rides at each destination. At Legoland Florida Resort, the Deussens even enjoyed The Lego Movie World.
“This is the only place in the world to see The Lego Movie World and it was a lot of fun; Julian loves the characters,” said Deussen.
Although this is the first adventure of its kind, Legoland officials quickly realized the Deussen “Legoland World Tour” was not quite complete. Legoland officials surprised the Deussens with complimentary tickets to visit Legoland New York Resort once it opens in 2020.
It may have taken Deussen eight months and numerous hours to plan the trip, but he insists it was worth every moment.
“100 percent it was worth it. To see Julian smile so much at every park and interact with children from around the world, regardless of the language difference, was amazing for me to see. I would absolutely do it again.”
