Bittersweet news…Lucifer has officially been renewed by Netflix for its fifth and final season!

Based on the Vertigo Comics series of the same name, Lucifer follows the fallen angel (Tom Ellis) as he abandons Hell and chooses to live among humans. While running a nightclub in Los Angeles, he works as a consultant for the LAPD and forms a connection with a homicide detective named Chloe (Lauren German).

Just weeks after cancellation by its original home, Fox, Lucifer was picked up by Netflix. The fourth season was added to the streaming platform on May 8, and the series quickly became the most binge-watched show of the month.

If the announcement from the official Lucifer Twitter account is anything to go by, the final season will aim to bring a satisfying ending to the series.

The first four seasons of Lucifer are available for streaming on Netflix.
