The Big Bang Theory follows the lives of two quirky physicists Leonard Hofstadter (John Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (James Parsons) who not only work together at the California Institute of Technology, but also live together as well. Then, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) the waitress/aspiring actress moves into an apartment across the hall from  the two brilliant but socially awkward physicists, and shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory. The show also features them frequently hanging out with their best friends and fellow Caltech scientists Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar).
