Fans of the classic Dr. Mario game will rejoice with Nintendo’s newest announcement! Nintendo announced that Dr. Mario World will be released globally early Summer 2019 for iOS and Android devices.

While there is little known about the upcoming Dr. Mario World, it will be based on Dr. Mario which was released back in 1990 for the NES game system.  The puzzle game involved colorful pill capsules that would fall, the goal being to align similar colors (yellow on top of yellow, red on top of red, etc.) on top of the viruses. If the pills reach the top of the board, which was shaped like a medicine vial, it was game over. Four colors in a row would result in the virus and capsules being cleared from the board, and therefore would help you stay in the game.

The game was released again for the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1994 in the form of Tetris & Dr. Mario, and again in 2004 for Game Boy Advance as part of the Classic NES Series. It was also updated for Game Boy Advance with Dr. Mario & Puzzle League.
